Review: HTC HD7

Last week BzzAgent.com sent me the HTC HD7 (read post here). So I figured I'd try it out for a week and let you know what I thought.

Overall, the phone is fantastic. It has a lot of things I like. I love:
  • that it's a Windows phone
  • the huge screen (4.3 inches),
  • the fact that it is a touch screen,
  • T-Mobile TV is great (DD used it the other day when she was bored)
  • it's my own mp3 player (my husband can have his Ipod touch back)
  • calendar is nice
  • it's easy to keep track of my emails, texts, facebook messages, etc.
  • the camera takes decent pics
  • has a lot of cool apps to download
  • it's a fabulous gaming phone (I'm not much of video games but its cool to have access to X box games)
  • I can read and edit my Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Can listen to slacker radio, and
  • and the colors for the apps, video, pics are very high quality.
But as with everything, there are a few things I don't like.
  • It does not allow you to use your own ring tones, it comes with preloaded ones you have to use (hopefully someone will make an app for that)
  • You can edit your pics somewhat, but they don't have a crop feature, which I used to use on my other phone.
  • It's a Windows phone, it does the same things a PC does, sometimes it just freezes and you have to restart it.
  • Haven't figured out how to close apps - they just stay open, and eventually slow the phone down.
  • It's huge, compared to other phones, it takes some getting used to. Not as easy to carry in your pocket or hold up to your ear.
  • The battery life is not that great, by the time I get home from work it is just about dead. Have to get a bigger battery.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say its about a 9. It is soooooo much fun to play with, I can just be on it for hours. Sometimes I use it instead of my laptop because it is so much more convenient. Is it for everyone? No, you have to have some basic computer knowledge to use it. (One of the guys at work wants it, but it is too complicated for him, he can barely send an email from Outlook). Would I recommend it to other? Of course, it is a very nice phone with many fantastic features.

After all is said and done, I am so excited to have a smart phone again. I missed it so much. I am so thankful that BzzAgent.com chose me to be part of the best campaign they've had (in my opinion)
